Plant Life
I find flowers & plants take on a new meaning when you look at them up close, here are some of my favourites.

Here is a Water Lily that I am fortunate to have flower on my garden pond each year. The flowers only last a day or two so if you have nice weather when they flower you are lucky.

Orchids are a firm favourite of mine, the flowers lasting months in perfect conditions. The detail inside the flower is often overlooked so I wanted to show people up close what it was like.

Here are some photos of my Orchid up close, I suddenly remembered about a feature on my camera which I have not used much. The feature takes the photo in black and white and gives you the option to leave one colour (red, yellow, blue or green) remaining. On using this option I was more than happy to see the results.

Here is something I never thought would make a fascinating photo, the Dandelion. I usually don't have the patience to photograph these but decided to give it a go on a day where we had very little wind to blow them about, and I must admit, I love the results! As it's summer you can expect a few more plant / flower photos to appear on here, mostly taken from my own garden. Here is a poppy from a plant I bought very early this year from a small garden centre in the Preseli hills. It flourished within a few days of being here and this is its first flower which is about 8" in diameter. This is the first time I have ever grown Poppies and I am now a major fan, love them!
